North Somerset Council extends X10 bus service with Transpora Bus 

22/02/2024

Following a successful trail, Transpora Bus will be taking over the X10 bus route from the 8th of April 2024, expanding its current offering to link communities to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Working in collaboration with North Somerset Council, the route will operate Monday to Saturday from 0700 - 1905, linking communities in Clevedon, Weston-in-Gordano and Portishead to Bristol. Transpora win 5-year partnership with Gloucestershire council and will operate route 60 between Dursley and Thornbury

Following a longstanding partnership with Gloucestershire council, Transpora Bus have won an enhanced 5-year partnership and through this will be operating route 60 from Dursley through Cam and Wotton under Edge to Thornbury. Head of Commercial at Transpora Group Simon Newport said, “We see this is an opportunity to develop a network of routes in partnership with Gloucestershire and South Gloucester Councils across this area.” Route 60 will operate every two hours Monday to Saturday. Transpora Bus in the press!

Following the announcement of a number of new routes that will be operating from the 8th of April in Bristol, Transpora Bus have received overwhelming response from both local communities and the press. Head of Commercial Simon Newport was interviewed by BBC Radio Bristol and appeared in a local news article about the reinstated 23 service that Transpora will be operating. The 23 service was also featured in articles by Bristol Live. The new N2 night bus that Transpora will be operating as the first dedicated night bus service in Bristol was also featured in articles by Bristol Live and Time Out. “These routes form a significant part of our continuously growing network in the West Country” said Ian Bell, General Manager of Transpora Bus South.  

Transpora Bus to bring back route 23 in Bristol

From the 8th of April 2024, Transpora will be operating Route 23 connecting Ashton Vale through Bedminster to the City Centre. Following the withdrawal of route 23 in 2023, the community in Ashton Vale have been left with a significant gap in bus connectivity and have since petitioned for the route to be brought back. Following the introduction of route 25 for St Pauls and St Werburghs, Transpora have been engaging with local communities that have been left without bus services such as those in Ashton Vale. However, while Transpora has hoped to work with local authorities to bring route 23 back to fruition, there was no funding available. Simon Newport, Head of Commercial at Transpora said “as a result, we have put together a service based on the gaps between existing buses”. The official timetable for route 23 can be found here.

Weymouth P&R is back!

21/07/2023

Starting Saturday 22nd July Transpora will be operating a frequent service from the Weymouth Park and Ride site to Weymouth Beach. Transpora Group is working with Weymouth Town Council to promote the service.  Park and Ride is seen as the sustainable way for families to visit Weymouth this summer.  Not only is it cheaper than parking in town all day it reduces congestion in the town centre.

Transpora Bus to launch routes in Weymouth...

TransporaBus will be operating five dedicated bus routes to various schools in West Dorset from our new Weymouth depot from 5th June 2023.


We are really looking forward to delivering these services and working with the schools and Doreset council to develop home to school transport.

Route 2 to launch in Bournemouth...

Transpora Bus will be operating a new route in Bournemouth from 27th May between Boscombe Bus Station and Bournemouth Triangle via Holdenhurst Road.


We are always looking out for new opportunities to get people back to bus following the pandemic and after a number of bus stop surveys, data crunching and planning, route 2 was born. We are looking forward to welcoming our new customers and continue to look for further opportunities to develop this route along with potential new ones.

Bristol service changes...

Transpora Bus will be operating a number of additional services across the wider Bristol area from 1st April 2023.


Following the withdraw of the 47 route by FirstBus, Transpora is pleased that by working with the West of England Combined Authority we will be operating a new service 25 between the City Centre and Southmead Hospital via St Paul's ensuring people are not cut off from public transport. In addition, we'll be operating school bus routes 680, 963 and 967. Route 52 will also continue in a revised format.


Transpora Bus will also commence operation of the new CP2 contract between Newport, South Wales and Avonmouth.

Transpora Bus to launch in Bournemouth...

TransporaBus will be launching a number of services in Bournemouth starting with the school bus service for Poole and Parkstone Grammar schools from 20th February 2023.

Transpora bus awarded route 781...

Transpora South West will be operating route 781 between Blakeney and Gloucester on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council from Wednesday 1st February 2023.


We're really excited about taking over this route and look forward to meeting our new customers.

Route 72 to launch in Blackpool...

TransporaBus will operate route 72 between Blackpool Town Centre and Staining from Monday 19th December following the withdraw of route 20 by Blackpool Transport.


We are really excited to work with our partners at Lancashire County Council to maintain this vital link and from January, Lancashire residents will be able to benefit from the nationwide £2 single-ticket price which we hope will encourage more people to use the bus.

Donate food items to our moving foodbank...

As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, we have put foodbank donation boxes on board our buses in Blackpool and Bristol on the run up to the Christmas period.


We're asking our customers to help us to help those in need by donating any 'long life' items. By working with our partners, inHope Bristol we can do our bit to help those in need.

The number 52 service from Hengrove Park to Cabot Circus was one of several routes run by Bristol Community Transport (BCT), which ceased operating services on September 2.
